Monday was a day of shame for the so-called modern, progressive state like Maharashtra which recorded one lakh deaths of Coronavirus. If Maharashtra has been a country, it would have been on number third place regarding Corona deaths. This is a very shameful thing for Maharashtra. Even when Maharashtra was recording its death number one lakh, the ruling parties in the state and opposition were indulged in political mudslinging and nobody seemed to care for the so many people who have died due to Coronavirus infection. In all these years, the state government has just passed the days with petty allegations against BJP and the later retaliated showing with same lack of gravity or seriousness about the situation. People continued facing the grief of losing near and dear ones and the political leaders were busy making allegations against each other.  Both ruling parties in the state as well as BJP are equally responsible for these one lakh deaths in Maharashtra. But, of course, as ruling parties, Shivsena, Congress and NCP have more responsibility to control the pandemic in which they have miserably failed. The state government was only busy in making false allegations against the centre and tall claims of controlling the pandemic but it was just an eyewash. Many deaths have taken place due to lack of oxygen and mismanagement of oxygen supply. For all the deaths, centre is not responsible. The Mahavikas Aghadi government has to share the responsibility for these deaths. If in a single mishap, twenty or more people die, the media run the news for many days. Here even after the one lakh deaths, the media is silent. The media has become puppets of rulers in the state, but it is its tendency. Always, media takes the side of rulers may be in the state or centre. Media is not important. People and governments are important from the point of view of controlling the pandemic and the ruling parties have completely failed on this front. There is no need for proof as the number of one lakh deaths is enough to tell Maharashtra’s sad story. There was no oxygen, no oxygen beds and no Remdisivir injections. People died gasping for oxygen and still CMO office was busy making propaganda of how the MVA government was working well and how CM is the world’s Best CM, how the Mumbai model is being appreciated by the world. Nobody knows this is fake or true but for some days the government was successful in diverting people’s attention towards other subjects. At the same time, BJP should have shown more maturity in this situation, but it just kept itself busy in making allegations against the rulers. This is not the duty of the opposition. Maharashtra saw one lakh deaths due to Coronavirus infection is a combined failure of the government, ruling parties and administration. The bureaucracy only acts as a puppet of rulers and it has only one job of just presenting a show of obeying the orders of rulers. It has not its own face or job but just to follow the orders or to make a show of following orders. So, bureaucracy is also responsible for these one lakh deaths. They have not acted with sympathy but dry apathy. Now, the state government should sit and find a way to avoid further human loss in the state in a concrete manner and come out of political rivalry or politics. Maharashtra people have got enough share of their grief as job loss, to meet the ends in half salary and the last but not the least pain of losing near and dear ones. Everybody in power should ensure now that, the situation does not repeat. This will be the only true tribute to those one lakh victims.
