Vidarbha social organisations to get Corona Care support from BAPIO

Nagpur: British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (BAPIO) has selected social organisations for a donation of ventilators, oxygen concentrators, pulse oxymeters, medicines and PPE kits, etc. The social organisations in Vidarbha region will be benefitted from the Association’s noble gesture by the doctors. The social organizations which will get the equipment worth Rs 4 crore, donated by BAPIO include – PadmashriDrPrakashAmte’sLokBiradari project in Hemalkasa, in Gadchiroli district; PadmashriDrRavindra and DrSmitaKolhe’s project in Bairagadh in DharniTahasil of Amravati district; PadmashriDrAbhay and Dr Rani Bang’s project SEARCH in Gadchiroli; DrAshish and DrKavitaSatav’s project MAHAN in Melghat, Amravati district; DrVikasAmte’s project Anandvan, in Warora, Chandrapur district; DrKaustrubhAmte’s project in Somnath, Chandrapur district; Old Age Home Panchawati of MatruSewaSangh and Orphanage at Saoner; ShraddhanandAnathalay, Nagpur; VimalashramGharkul of RambhauIngole in Nagpur.In addition as per availability following organisations are under consideration – MatruSewaSangh Maternity Home, Sitabuldi, Nagpur and Mure Memorial Hospital, Nagpur.

The information has been given by DrUdayBodhankar, Executive Director of COMHAD and Patron of Paediatric Association of India.BAPIO was founded by Prof Ramesh Mehta, a native of Nagpur. The charitable non-political organization has been helping various organisations for better health facilities, particularly in the rural areas and for those serving the economically weaker.The donation has been made to meet the challenges posed by COVID pandemic, to the health care providers.
