Third wave imminent

All the doctors and experts have been telling that the third Corona wave is on the threshold of our country, while some are saying that, it has already entered Maharashtra. There has been an atmosphere of fear and panic regarding the third wave. The centre and state governments have been using Corona for their petty political gains is a reality. But at the same time, the existence of third wave is also a reality. We should not neglect the warnings of experts about the third wave as the variant causing this wave is extremely invincible and it is not affected by any vaccines or antibodies. In first wave, our main weapon against Corona virus was antibodies which develop in our bodies in eight to ten days of treatment. They attack any new virus that enters our body and Corona is defeated. In second wave, the variant was more advanced and it was unrelented by vaccines and our focus was on oxygen supply and Remedisivir. But we have a most difficult challenge now and it is to tackle this Delta plus variant which causes third wave which is not getting neutralized by either vaccine or medicine or antibodies. This is why we have to be more caution this time. But, main enemy for us is our complacency. When the graph of Corona patients just slides downwards, we throng to tourist spots with families including children. On Sunday, as many as 20 000 tourists were gathered at Nainital, one of the most famous tourist places in Uttarakhand. Today, while discussing with North East chief ministers, prime minister Modi has expressed concern over people are loitering without masks. Our complacency will bring a huge damage of life and property loss for us. At the same time, the government and health machinery is ill-prepared for any wave of Corona since March 20. Modi administration failed to forecast the actual damage the Corona would cause in India is the real fact. Not only this, when the politicians irrespective of all parties, blame people for spreading virus by gathering in large numbers, they themselves organize huge rallies, demonstrations with participation of huge number of workers. Do they have moral right to criticize people is the question. Still, we need not be complacent as the third wave variant is said to be more strong and not affected by vaccines. If it is spread in India, there is a possibility of huge number of deaths. In first wave, we were saved by antibodies and in second wave, we were saved by oxygen supply and vaccines though there had been many irregularities in both of the cases. But, this time we are unprotected. We can’t be saved by vaccine or medicines. So how can we face this challenge? The only answer is we should keep Covid-19 proper behaviour. We always should wear masks, sanitize hands frequently and keep physical distance. At the same time, the government should complete vaccination as early as possible. When most of the Indians are vaccinated, the danger of human loss will be mitigated to large extent. Prime minister has suggested the same measures to prevent third wave. Though tourism and hospitality sectors have been greatly affected by Corona virus, we can’t think now of economic progress or GDP. We should prefer to save people because if they would live, then the tourism sector would be boosted. There is a good news that, Russian Sputnik V vaccine will be produced in India from coming September. It will solve our problem of vaccine supply partially. If we want to prevent third wave, we should implement every measure that we can. If we get affected by third wave, there will be no one to cope with fourth wave which has already started in other countries.
