High drama over youth’s abduction

PRAYAGRAJ, May 14 (HS): A high drama was witnessed as the police department swung into action after the police control room received a call regarding alleged kidnapping of a youth here on Thursday night. The police said a call was received that five to six men have allegedly kidnapped a youth, in his early 30’s, in their car from his residence at Adarsh Nagar locality of Chaka village under Naini police station.
The police said that the complainant, Radha Singh, wife of abducted youth, Vipin Singh who originally hails from Chitrakoot and currently residing in Chaka, Naini area of Prayagraj had informed that five-six men got out of their car on Thursday and started arguing with the youth first and then attacked him and forcefully abducted him and sped away. The complainant has lodged a complaint against Ashish Singh, a resident of Chitrakoot. On the basis of compliant, police registered an FIR against Ashish Singh and four unidentified persons and embarked on intensive checking drive, which led to panic among abductors, who after thrashing the victim, fled away from the spot. Police recovered him from the spot and brought him to Naini police station.
“Intricate grassroot network was activated and intensified checking drive was carried out on all roads leading to Chitrakoot. Relatives of the suspected accused were interrogated about their whereabouts by cops. Joint team of cops were actively searching for the accused. The kidnappers drove him to an isolated place in Chitrakoot and there they thrashed him badly. They later made him leave and vanished in the thin air. Police had recovered the victim from the spot safely and constituted teams to nab the accused,” said a police official.
According to the sources, the matter seemed to be a money dispute as during the preliminary investigations by the police, it came to the fore that all men knew each other. The victim has to repay some money to the accused Ashish Singh. The person who was allegedly abducted did not raise any alarm to save himself, the sources added.
