New Delhi: President Ram NathKovind on Friday condoled the demise of Zambia's first President and African independence advocate Dr. Kenneth David Kaunda and said his contribution will never be diminished. Kaunda, 97, died in the hospital on Thursday. In a tweet, President Kovind paid tribute to Kenneth Kaunda saying, "Sad to hear about the passing of Dr. Kenneth Kaunda, the first President and founding father of modern Zambia. I had the privilege of meeting him in 2018. He was a great African leader and a committed Gandhian. His contribution will never diminish. My deepest condolences to the people of Zambia.”
