PRAYAGRAJ: Until May 25, a total of 5,13,713 Covid vaccination shots were given to people of all ages in the district, including those over 45 and those between 18 and 44. While 4,09,854 people had received the first dose of vaccine, an additional 1,04,258 people had got the second dosage. Officials stated the health department is presently administering vaccinations to people aged 18 to 44 and over 45 at 35 locations throughout the district.
Dr. TeerathLal, additional chief medical officer and district immunization officer (DIO), said, "For the first time, we have covered over 11,000 beneficiaries of all age groups in a single day, including recipients over 45 and recipients between 18 and 44 years, and efforts are underway to cover the maximum number of recipients." “Vaccination employees are also taking care of such persons, notably the elderly, who are unable to go to the vaccination site room due to physical problems, and then, when they arrive at a vaccination center for vaccination, workers offer them a jab at their vehicles,” he stated.
In the last 24 hours, for example, a total of 11, 645 vaccine shots were administered to recipients of all ages, including 11,554 first-dose recipients and 91 second-dose recipients, he said, adding that an increasing number of people are registering for vaccination on the health department's website. Surprisingly, the number of receivers between the ages of 18 and 44 registering with the CoWin portal or arriving at the vaccination station for on-the-spot registration has increased dramatically. The fact is that all 35 sites, including 14 urban centers such as MLN Medical College, Duffrin Hospital, Railway Hospital, and MD Eye Hospital, have a long line of people.
