Basavaraj Bommai sworn in as 30th Karnataka Chief Minister

Bengaluru, :BasavarajSomappaBommai was today sworn in as the 30th Karnataka Chief Minister at the Glasshouse auditorium here. Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot administered the oath of office and secrecy.
He took an oath in Kannada and in the name of God.BasavarajBommai alone was sworn in contrary to earlier reports yesterday that Three other Deputy Chief Ministers' would also take the oath.
He was unanimously elected leader of the Bharatiya Janata Legislature Party, yesterday evening at a private hotel. The meeting was preceded by another core committee meeting of the ruling party. The legislature party meeting was over within minutes wherein the decision was made and announced.
Later, soon after the meeting, the newly elected legislature party leader met the Governor with a delegation including senior leaders and observers from the high command.
This morning, the designated chief minister left the home early in the morning. He paid obeisance in a temple and headed to Kumara Krupa government guest house where he met the central leaders and observers.Arun Singh, the state party in charge, union Ministers DharmendraPradhan, G Kishan Reddy and DK Aruna, all observers were among those whom the newly elected chief minister met at the state guest house.Then he moved to the nearby 'Kaveri' official residence of BS Yediyurappa, former chief minister and sought his blessings.BS Yediyurappa, Central Ministers', observers and senior leaders graced the occasion.
