Finally, world famous and most awaited sports event Olympic has begun in Tokyo, the capital of Japan. This time, the competition will be held in empty halls and absence of applause due to the fear of Corona pandemic. This is extremely disappointing for Athletes who are eager to show their talent and skills in front of large number of enthusiastic gathering. This is very detrimental fact to their performance. But, anyhow the international most acclaimed competition has begun under the shadow of Corona pandemic. The Olympic began in fifteenth century in Greece and it has remained most popular and biggest event since then. It is the biggest platform for athletics players to show their skills and talent.  In this Tokyo Olympic also, the teams from Russia, USA , China and Europe will dominate on medals is writing on the wall. Other countries have not preparation and resources is the main reason, not the dearth of talent. As far as India is concerned, for the first time, Indian team is largest so far with 124 members including 52 women. Earlier days, Indian team used to only register its presence and not a single medal was being brought. The same can be said about Indian shooting team. In earlier days, shooting team used to consist of 7 to 8 players and they were not able to create a ripple there. But the situation is dramatically changed now and with Rajyavardhan Rathod and Abhinav Bindra, Indian shooting team especially youngsters are full of confidence and fearless. So, India has a lot of hopes from young shooters like Manu Bhakar, Yashaswini Deswal, Sourabh Chordhary and Abhishek Varma.  Rahi Sarnoubat is dark horse.  In Rowing  game, India has sent two rowers Arjun and Arvind who have represented India in international competition and won silver medals there. So, they have a good chance of performing well in rowing. The real disappointing fact is about Indian Hockey which is under doldrums for a while now. Once India had great reputation in Hockey but the politics and animosity between coaches has brought the game to such a low level that, nobody thinks about Indian hockey team. Indian women hockey team is on 12^th place in world ranking and there are not lot of hopes from Indian team that has reached to Tokyo. But, advantage is that, this team has no pressure as there are no expectations from  them. So, they suddenly may give a magnificent performance. Besides, this team is full of very young players who can serve for the game for many years to come. Hockey world cup will be held in India in 2014 and they will have a good experience from Tokyo. There is extremely enthusiastic atmosphere in Indian squad and everybody is full of confidence of performing best. In Table Tennis, there is not much hope being expressed by experts. But, a name worth watching will be Manika Batra who has the ability to turn the tables. But, she should play in doubles with Sharad Kanwal because in double there are less number of players and one match is to be played less. So, more chances of getting medal are there. If Manika Batra and Sharad Kanwal manage to bring a medal for India, it will be a bonus for them and the nation. To conclude, we must extend our good wishes to Indian team to bring more and more medals for our country. We know it is very hard near to impossible, but our players have a lot of perseverance and they may be able to bring at least five or six medals as in London Olympics held in 2012. They should repeat the London performance where they had brought six medals.
