India records 2 lakh Covid cases and 402 deaths in a single day

New Delhi : According to data released by the union Health Ministry on Saturday, India registered 2,68,833 new Covid infections in a single day, bringing the total to 3,68,50,962, including 6,041 Omicron variant cases.
With 402 more deaths, the total number of people who have died from the virus now stands at 4,85,752. The fatality rate in this case was 1.32 percent. According to the data updated at 8 a.m., a total of 6,041 Omicron cases have been detected, up 5.01 percent from Friday. The daily positivity rate was 16.66%, and the weekly positivity rate was 12.84%. The number of active cases has risen to 14,17,820, the highest level in nearly 223 days, and they now account for 3.85 percent of all cases.

The number of people who have recovered from the disease has now reached 3,49,47,390. The total number of Covid vaccine doses given out in the country has surpassed 156.02 crore.
