India lost two years due to Corona virus spread in the terms of valuable human resources, economic strength and financial stability, running of industries and labour welfare. This means overall India’s loss on account of Corona virus may be in the magnitude of many billion dollars of rupees.  It crushed our already dilapidated economy to further and job losses caused unbearable unemployment. Let alone India. worldwide, Covid-19 pandemic,  claimed around six  million lives and wrecked many economies. But still, nobody officially can claim which factor or which place is responsible of originating of Corona virus. There have been various studies done to find out the real reason and place from where virus originated. But, nobody can say anything officially. But the recent two studies have pointed out Wuhan wet market in China is the officially origin of Corona virus and not the China’s lab of virology in Wuhan which has highest security. Two new studies have raised hope that the world will finally get some definitive answers. Research carried out by scientists, including those from the University of Arizona, indicates that China’s Wuhan wet market may have been the source of the novel coronavirus and not the Wuhan Institute of Virology. According to the studies, not yet peer-reviewed, the SARS-CoV-2 virus was very likely present in live mammals sold in the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market in late 2019 and it twice spilled over into people working or shopping there. Earlier, there was speculation that the virus leaked from the institute’s maximum-security biological laboratory under suspicious circumstances. However, an investigation carried out by an expert team of the World Health Organization (WHO) in January-February 2021 had virtually ruled out the lab leak theory. Of course, after so much loss of human resources and money, there is no meaning in finding out who is responsible for Corona virus outbreak. The damage has already been done. China, which has largely been evasive over the origin of the virus, needs to take cognizance of these new studies and come out with a detailed response. Under fire from the international community, Beijing had initially dragged its feet before allowing the WHO team to visit Wuhan — an entire year after the outbreak of the pandemic — and that too amid allegations that the experts were restrained from conducting a free and fair probe. There is little hope that,  China which has never cared for any misdeed it has done in the past, may come with some explanation. It has never cared for international community. A transparent, multi-agency investigation is a must to get to the bottom of the matter. This can’t be done without the unconditional cooperation of the Chinese authorities. There is no doubt that there were lapses in China’s disease surveillance which led to disastrous consequences for the whole world. Scientists have rightly observed that understanding the Covid pandemic’s origin is the key to mitigating future outbreaks. It’s a long-drawn-out process to pinpoint animal sources of such viruses and the way they enter human bodies. Sustained and focused research, devoid of political considerations, can tell us clearly how it all started and how we can be better prepared to avert another catastrophe.  Whether China will co operate the world in this matter is to be seen. But to avoid further outbreaks, China must come with some guidance and co operation. China never comes out with real information and always it avoids collective responsibility. But China should not remain now evasive for these important questions.  If world lost its patience, it may take very severe action against China. Its economic and military might may not be the impediment in taking action against it.
