Secretaries to handle ministerial work in Maharashtra

Mumbai, : Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has delegated decision-making powers to the secretaries of all departments in view of the appointments of Ministers in the state. Shinde has taken this decision to avoid hinderance in work due to the absence of a minister in the state.
After Chief Minister's decision, Chief Secretary Manu Kumar Srivastava has issued an order on Saturday to hand over all the powers of appeal, review, application review, interim order, immediate hearing to the Secretary. This order is going to be in force till the ministers are appointed. Chief Secretary has said in his order that there should be no laxity in the functioning of any department.
Eknath Shinde, after parting ways with Shiv Sena, had taken oath on June 30 as the Chief Minister and Devendra Fadnavis as the Deputy Chief Minister. After this, the matter of power struggle in the state is in Supreme Court, due to which work is suffering in the state. Chief Minister has delegated the powers of ministers to the secretaries for the same reason.
