904 page chargesheet filed against three including Praveen Darekar in Mumbai Bank case

Mumbai : Chargesheet has been filed against three persons including Praveen Darekar, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council in the alleged Mumbai Bank labor case. The names of Praveen Margaj and Shrikant Kadam have been included in the 904-page chargesheet. Sections 199, 200, 406, 417, 420, 465, 468, 471 and 120B of the Penal Code are against these three. However, in this case, the Mumbai High Court has granted pre-arrest bail to Darekar.

The chargesheet was filed by Mumbai Police in the Ballard Pier Metropolitan Court on Friday along with Praveen Darekar in the alleged Mumbai Bank labor case. Mumbai Police has recorded the testimony of 29 witnesses in this case. It includes three police officers, a deputy collector, some government officials and some Mumbai Bank employees. Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party leader Dhananjay Shinde had lodged a complaint against Darekar at the MRA Marg police station.

Meanwhile, it was alleged that Darekar had filed his candidature for the Mumbai District Central Co-operative Bank elections by giving bogus documents. Darekar had registered as a laborer in 1997 as a member of Pratigya Sahakari Society. After that he served as the chairman of the bank for 10 years. He was alleged to have maintained the record even after being elected as an MLA.
