Ship catches fire in Philippines, 124 people on board

Manila : Ship carrying 124 people caught fire,on Monday, on its way to a city in Quezon province on the Philippines' Luzon island. Passengers and crew jumped into the sea to save their lives. A spokesman for the Philippines Coast Guard (PCG) gave this information.
Navy officer Armand Balilo said the ship Merkraft-2 departed Polillo, an island town in the province, at 5 a.m. local time. It caught fire some 900 meters away before reaching a port in Real Town. The rescue operation is on. At least six passengers are being treated at a local hospital.
