Mumbai Indians recall Tim David’s power-packed batting - Those straight hits look familiar

New Delhi : Tim David has had outstanding outings irrespective of the teams he played for in 2021. After playing some swashbuckling knocks for the Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League (BBL), he showed his class for the Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022. Last year, he also did exceptionally for the St Lucia Zouks in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). David got a massive break after he was picked to play for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

He didn’t get to play a whole lot of matches, but put forth his stupendous skills in the cash-rich T20 tournament. In eight matches, the right-handed David scored 186 runs at an average of 37.20 and a strike rate of 216.27. Although the Mumbai-based team failed to qualify for the playoffs, David managed to hog the limelight with his powerful display of stroke-play. In the meantime, MI posted a video where David can be seen hitting the ball with a lot of power while playing in the T20 Blast. Mumbai captioned the video and wrote, “Those straight hits look familiar”. On Sunday, May 29, David scored a 25-ball 60 for Lancashire in their match against Worcestershire On the back of his knock, Lancashire posted a healthy score of 183/7 and eventually went on to win the match by 12 runs. Right-arm fast bowler Charlie Morris got rid of David to cut short his stay in the middle.
