Srinagar : Terrorists fired at a Special Police Officer in Gudoora village in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, who later succumbed to injuries during treatment in a local hospital. SPO Riyaz Ahmad Thoker was taken to Pulwama hospital where he succumbed to injuries during treatment.

Meanwhile government associations and people protested against the killing of a Kashmiri Pandit Rahul Bhat on Thursday. Rahul Bhat, 35, was a clerk at the Tehsil office in Chadoora as part of a special employment package for Kashmiri Pandit migrants. Two terrorists of Kashmir Tigers entered the Tehsil office around 4.30 p.m., when it was packed with employees and people, and opened fire on Bhat after verifying his name. He was rushed to Srinagar's SMHS Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

In the last seven months, Bhat is the second Kashmiri Pandit to be killed by terrorists. On October 6, 2021, terrorists shot and killed chemist Makhan Lal Bindroo, a prominent member of the Kashmiri Pandit community.
