Prayagraj : The UPI QR code-based digital payment service is now accessible at the booking counters of Prayagraj's head post offices and other head post offices across the country.
According to the postmaster general of the Prayagraj area, several digital services are being expanded in post offices for the benefit of the people. By utilising cutting-edge technology, the Postal Service is making its services more customer-friendly. He stated that UPI QR codes have been set at the post office, and that clients would be able to make digital payments using UPI by scanning them.
Booking of speed post, parcel, and registered letters in head post offices, as well as payment of booking charges for various types of letters, packages, and other postal products, will soon be allowed via digital payment in addition to cash. Postmaster general stated that QR codes have been placed at the booking counters of the head post offices in order to accept digital payments. Customers may scan the QR code and pay using any UPI payment smartphone application such as Dak Pay, Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, Amazon Pay, and others. When the payment procedure is over, the software will get the payment completion information from the central server and print the customer's receipt.
The implementation of this service in post offices would improve the digital economy while also providing cashless options for clients, according to him. "Customers visiting head post offices, as well as postal staff at the counter, will now be relieved of the inconveniences of money transactions and will save time." "Cash payments will continue as well," he added.
