Big challenge to national security

With the capture of Afghanistan by Taliban, the security equations in Asia have changed dramatically. The security threat to India has been increased by manifold times as Taliban may target Kashmir with the incitement of Pakistan. The inference is that, India now has to remain alert forever till Taliban is ruling Afghan country. India has not worry for Pakistan or Afghanistan, but China which has declared its support to Taliban regime. This is increasing India’s concern as China is a strong country with many modern defence mechanism. China is annoyed by Uighur Muslims who are fighting to separate from China and so it is supporting Taliban. China is feared of Taliban helping and abating Uighur Muslims in fulfilling their mission. Pakistan has different problems. If It does not support Taliban, it has fear of the later may destroy Pakistan. So Pakistan wants Taliban engaged in fighting somewhere so that it does not look towards it. So, Pakistan undoubtedly will incite Taliban to attempt terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. It will also serve the purpose of creating headaches for India also and later will engage in defending its borders. China and Pakistan will always try to pressurize India as its international importance is increasing year by year. Taking into all these equations and scenario, India need to remain alert forever and it should keep its defence apparatus up to date. Same thoughts have been expressed by the defence minister Rajnath Singh recently. The moves by Taliban, Pak and China show how accurate Rajnath is in its understanding of international situation. As Rajnath mentioned, India needs to remain self-reliant in the matter of defence machinery. For that, it should give new impetus on making defence products in the country itself. Also, the modernization of military is extremely necessary. In this case, Indian previous Congress government has messed up with the idea. When A K Antony was defence minister, he literally sat on all the defence deals of purchase of weapons which Indian army needed badly. In Modi’s tenure, the defence mechanism started to moving to some extent and finally military modernization was initiated. Modi government completed Rafael planes deal which was initiated by Congress government in 2006. It was completed in Modi’s tenure and the first batch of consignment reached  India. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi continuously made allegations against Modi of corruption in this deal. But, he did not give any evidence. So, his charges were neglected by both voters in 2019 general elections and Modi himself. On the back drop of all this, Rajnath Singh has said that Indian defence industry should be self-reliant and robust. To combat ever challenging international situation, India not only should build modern, robust and competent army, but also build robust, self-reliant and competent defence production industry. Rajnath Singh has correctly judged the danger India is possessing presently. There is no friendly country for India except Bhutan. All the borders are tense with Nepal, Srilanka, Bangla Desh can become hostile any time. Pakistan is open enemy and China is bent upon creating trouble for India. All other small Asian countries have been turned to its side by China on the basis of providing big financial help to these countries. So, India need to be more vigilant now. Rajnath Singh’s statement reflects how India has come under the threat from Taliban capturing Afghanistan. Even US will not intervene in Asian matters now as it has severely hit by Taliban episode. Pakistan is a veiled villain for India and even US also as in the name of bringing Taliban to negotiating table, it is blackmailing the world. For India, not the nights but days are also dangerous and it should remain vigil twenty four by seven.
