Mumbai : The Shinde-Fadnavis government in Maharashtra is expected to be expanded before August 3.
Shinde faction leader Abdul Sattar told the media that according to the formula fixed in the Shinde-Fadnavis government, 26 ministers (including the deputy chief minister's post) and 16 ministers (including the chief minister's post) from the Shinde faction would be in the cabinet. The disgruntled MLAs of the Shinde faction will be satisfied by being given the post of president of the Mahamandal.
On June 30, Eknath Shinde was sworn in as Chief Minister and Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as Deputy Chief Ministerbut cabinet's expansion has been held up. At midnight on Wednesday, Shinde met union Home Minister Amit Shah. At that time, CM Shinde had demanded 20 ministers for his faction, but Amit Shah had given 16 ministerial posts, including the CM post, to the Shinde faction. The date of cabinet expansion has not been decided yet. Shinde has said that the expansion will happen very soon, while Abdul Sattar said that the Group of Ministers would be expanded before August 3.
