New Delhi, : Delhi government minister Satyendar Jain, accused of money laundering, has withdrawn his interim bail plea from Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court. Special judge Geetanjali Goel, while rejecting his interim bail plea, allowed the withdrawal of the interim petition. The matter was not listed in the court, but senior advocate N Hariharan, appearing for Satyendar Jain on Saturday said that Jain is being discharged from Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan Hospital today itself, so he wants to withdraw the interim bail plea. After that the court dismissed the interim bail plea and allowed it to be withdrawn.Jain had sought interim bail from the court on health grounds. He was admitted to the Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan Hospital since July 15. Opposing Jain's interim bail plea, Enforcement Directorate (ED) had said that Loknayak Jaiprakash Narayan Hospital is a Delhi government hospital and there could be falsification in the medical report of Jain. The ED said that Jain is the Health Minister of Delhi and in such a situation, there is a possibility of discrepancy in his medical report.
The ED had filed an application in the High Court seeking medical examination of Jain in a hospital other than Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan Hospital. On June 18, the court had rejected his regular bail plea. The ED had said that the cash was given in Delhi. This cash reached the entry operators in Kolkata through hawala. Black money was being made white by investing in these fake companies.
On July 27, ED had filed a charge sheet making six people and four companies, including Jain, accused. The court had taken cognizance of the charge sheet on July 29. The accused named in the chargesheet by the ED include Jain, his wife Poonam Jain, close aide Vaibhav Jain, Ankush Jain, Sunil Kumar Jain, Ajit Kumar Jain, besides Akinchan Developers Pvt Ltd, Prayas Infotech Pvt Ltd and JJ Ideal companies are also named. Satyendar Jain, Vaibhav Jain and Ankush Jain are already in judicial custody in this case. In this case, Jain's wife Poonam Jain, Ajit Prasad and Sunil Kumar Jain have got interim bail.
