UP BJP all set for an organisational revamp by mid-July

Prayagraj: Before mid-July, the UP BJP will reorganise and revitalize its frontal and lateral sections in a major move toward an organisational overhaul. With less than six months to go for the state assembly elections, the procedure has been delayed by more than a year, and the party intends to complete it as soon as possible. The state BJP's numerous "morchas," "prakoshths," and "vibhags," which a senior party official described as "lateral appendages or limbs" of the party, aim to expand the party's influence among certain castes, advance the party's philosophy, encourage excellent work, and battle negative publicity. The state party President appoints the teams that work in these units for three years. When the new state party president takes office, the teams are reshuffled. SwatantraDev Singh, the current state party president, was elected in January 2020. According to party insiders, the coronavirus has caused a delay in the resurrection of the units and the recruitment of new teams, while the existing teams have continued to work.

“It is the party president's decision, and providing reasons for the delay makes no sense,” a senior party leader stated. The BJP has now set a deadline of July 15 to reassemble the units.  The state BJP has seven morchas, 17 prakoshths, and 28 vibhags. Each one has a distinct function. Youth, women, OBCs, minorities, SCs, STs, and farmers are all involved in the seven morchas.

In the same way, the prakoshth collaborates with lawyers, weavers, cultural artists, fishermen, traders, and other groups. The vibhag, on the other hand, includes the party's IT cell, media cell, SwachhtaAbhiyan and NamamiGange campaigns, disaster management cell, and other such entities.

At the state and district levels, each unit has a full-fledged team with a president, vice-president, secretary, and members. Appointments will be scheduled in stages. The presidents would be appointed first, followed by the remainder of the team. “Putting a full-fledged crew on the job in these units demonstrates how important they are. It's like having extra hands working for the party's cause on the ground,” said a BJP MLA.  “By appointing its workers to these positions, the party also compensates them. Many national and state-level party leaders have been active members of Yuva, Mahila, and other "morchas." Yuvamorcha members were SwatantraDev Singh and Dinesh Sharma, the deputy chief minister,” he added.
