Mumbai : Shiv Sena, casting aspersions on the Bharatiya Janata Party, alleged that a conspiracy is being hatched to disturb Maharashtra with the money of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.
Amravati MP Navneet Rana and her husband MLA Ravi Rana, who took Rs 80 lakh from D company crook Yusuf Lakdawala, were not questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Raut has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of shielding anti-national forces associated with the D Company.
Rajya Sabha member and Shiv Sena spokesperson and Sanjay Raut told reporters on Wednesday that Yusuf Lakdawala, a miscreant associated with D Company, was arrested by the ED in a money laundering case of Rs 200 crore. The ED investigated every transaction of Yusuf Lakdawala, but did not investigate the transaction of Rs 80 lakh done to MP Navneet Rana and MLA Ravi Rana. "Who saved him for this investigation is a big question in itself," he said.
He alleged that ED's actions were done at the behest of a BJP leader in Maharashtra. Now that leader should come forward and answer to the public. The investigation of this case is to be done by the Economic Department of Mumbai Crime Branch.
Raut said that in Maharashtra, provocative issues like reciting Hanuman Chalisa and use of loudspeakers were being raised with Dawood's money. "Through these issues unrest is being spread in Maharashtra. The state government will not allow unrest to spread in Maharashtra under any circumstances. The police will unveil the faces of the conspirators."
