Patna : Patna High Court on Friday directed the DGPs of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh alongwith Delhi Police Commissioner to produce Sahara supremo Subrata Ray before the court sharp at 10.30 am on 16 May.
Hearing the writ applications regarding payment of money deposited by consumers under different schemes, Justice Sandeep Kumar gave this order. On 27 April, the court had directed Ray to be present before the court on 12 May and intimate that how and when the money, deposited by investors with different companies of Sahara India, would be paid.
The court did not consider the three writs filed by Ray on health and security grounds, as the court had observed that those applications were not worth considering and his non-appearance before the court reflected that he had no regard for the court.
It had observed that nobody was above law and each must abide by the order of the court. The court had demanded from the advocate of Ray to inform the court that when and how the money of investors would be paid back and the advocate had failed to satisfy the court, and taking exception to it, the court gave this order.
