Door to door vaccination policy, Centre govt requests Bombay HC to bear with it for some more time

Mumbai: Bombay High court on Monday continued its hearing on the door to door vaccination policy for bedridden people and those who can't go to the vaccination centre for their shot.

DhrutiKapadia told the court, "Dehradun court is hearing a similar matter, this means that it's not just us who want the door to door vaccination, other people also want this. Bombay could have led with this policy but it didn't happen.

ASG Anil Singh on behalf of centre govt said that "BMC has sought permission from centre to conduct door to door vaccination drive. Every step is taken by the centre govt to ensure that everybody gets vaccinated. Some states and corporations are doing this (door to door vaccination). The Centre govt is considering this as one issue. We are amending our vaccination policies regularly".

The matter is adjourned till next Monday.ASG Anil Singh on behalf of centre govt said to the court, "We would request the court to bear with the centre govt for some time regarding door to door vaccination policy. In the near future union govt will come up with a policy for door to door vaccination, but it needs more time Bombay High Court asked the centre govt that, "BMC wrote to you seeking permission for door to door vaccination, where is the response on that?"

The court was shown a copy of the response.
