Cracks appearing in MVA

Mahavikas Aghadi government is becoming rapidly infamous for U-turns by various ministers. A recent example states rehabilitation minister Vijay Vadettiwar who announced prematurely the relaxing of restrictions in eighteen districts. The CMO had to swiftly act after this announcement and to explain that, no such decision has been taken. The MVA has become now a laughing matter due to the coordination gaps displayed by various ministers on various occasions. All these incidents not only show cracks appearing in Mahavikas Aghadi but the disappointment and depression under which Congress is going presently. The main cry of Congress is that it has not being given due importance in this three-party government. Shivsena and Nationalist Congress Party or NCP are sidelining the grand old party in
many issues and this has irked the party. The rift over a proposal to unlock has caused disquiet in the Congress camp which is important for the continuing of MVA government but is being neglected by both dominant parties. The recent mess created by Congress leader and relief and rehabilitation minister Vijay Vadettiwar shows that how Shivsena and NCP have lost rapport with their own partner to the maximum extent. Vadettiwar has been criticized from all quarters for his so-called immaturity, but he has a strong defense for himself. According to Vadettiwar, health minister Rajesh Tope makes many statements about the subjects which are not related to his jurisdiction and still he is not targeted. Vadettiwar has point here as Tope makes routine announcements that are not related to his ministry also. But, he is not being blamed. Vadettiwar forgets one thing. In politics or in life, those who are strong in any way have the last say and the weaker voices are always suppressed. Though there is not much
difference between NCP and Congress legislative assembly seats, Congress has got the seats due to Sharad Pawar. This means Congress's position like that of a dependent. Congress is not being due importance in the MVA government is evident by many incidents. The power minister Nitin Raut has proposed to waive extra electricity bills which was thrown into dustbin by CM Thackray. Vadettiwar finally explained to senior Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat about his stand, but he has not given clean chit to him. In fact, he has also blamed Vadettiwar for announcing unlocking plans in haste. Thorat has gone to blame Vadettiwar of making breach of convention. But the Congress was in red face when the decision to cancel the reservations in promotions was taken without taking into confidence the party. Congress has depended upon the Dalit vote bank and the decision of the state government has left Scheduled Casts irked. Congress has taken a strong objection to this decision and even threatened to withdraw from the government indirectly. But, nobody took Congress threat seriously and NCP or Shivsena did not react even to the threat statement. They know that, Congress can’t retreat from the government as they have got it as a sudden lottery. So, Congress will not take any silly decision to leave power. Congress is a dark horse in this government and dark horses have no power or courage to take bold decisions. This is poetic justice for Congress which was making other parties in any coalition dance on its tunes. Now, Congress is forced to take its own medicine. Nobody knows how many days MVA government will run, but Congress will not dare to opt out of government.
