Central government misusing investigative agencies: Tharoor

New Delhi,: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said that the central government is misusing the investigating agencies. He said that these investigating agencies have a special job, they should not be used to silence the voice of the Opposition. Talking to the media in the Parliament House complex on Monday, Tharoor said that the way the central government is currently taking recourse to investigative agencies to harass the Opposition, this should not be in a healthy democracy.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has questioned Congress President Sonia Gandhi and former Congress President Rahul Gandhi for several hours in connection with the money laundering case in the National Herald case. Describing this inquiry as illegal, Congress leaders and workers staged a street protest from Parliament against the Modi government, accusing it of misusing the investigative agencies.
