THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Constellation of stars and movement of planets have held back the swearing-in of the CPI(M)-led government in Kerala. Though the result of the assembly election was announced on May 2, the leader of the CPI(M) legislature party Pinarayi Vijayan (CaptainVijay, the name bestowed on him by party cadre after the resounding victory) is yet to call on Governor Mohammed Arif Khan to stake his claim to form the new Government. The CPI(M) led alliance has 99 members in the assembly with the former on its own possessing 66 seats. Together with CPI, its poor cousin, the party has sufficient strength to form a government. But according to party insiders, the demand by some of the fringe parties for ministerial positions is holding back the government formation and swearing-in.

According to special branch police staff, the eyes and ears of Pinarayi Vijayan and the CPI(M), it is the auspicious time matching the star of the Captain that is delaying the swearing-in ceremony. “The excuse that the CPI(M) is in talks with alliance partners which are nothing other than letter-head outfits is bunkum. Do you think there is anybody among the alliance who can stand up and ask the Captain that his outfit needs ministerial chairs? That will be the end of the so-called leader and his outfit,” a senior CPI(M) leader told Hindustan Samachar.

The truth is that Vijayan has delayed the swearing-in as per astrological advice. There was an astrologer-sorcerer from Payyannur who is always consulted by the Captain before taking any  political decision. It was this astro-sorcerer who has told Vijayan to delay the swearing-in till May 20, according to sources close to the Captain. Captain’s birthday, as is known is March 23, 1944. He was born on Mithunam Raasi and his birth star is Punartham. As per astrological calculations, it has been found that the period till May 17 is not auspicious for Vijayan. It may be remembered that Vijayan is suffering from a serious ailment for which he had undertaken a trip to the USA for medical treatment in synch with the CPI(M) precedence that the leaders should get themselves treated only from USA or UK because of fear of counter-subversion possibilities from the one-time socialist bloc countries. Since Vijayan is being projected as the global leader with a stature much bigger than that of US President Bidon, the party cadres are worried about the quality of treatment in India. To ward off all evil forces and to neutralize the power of black magic allegedly perpetrated by some of the leaders from the CPI(M) itself, the Payyanur astrologer had suggested countermeasures to nullify the effect of the sorcery. The astrological advice is to hold the swearing-in ceremony at the Central Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram which has been exclusively maintained for the function. Vijayan denied permission to Narendra Modi to address the BJP election rally from this stadium.
