3 Simdega women players chosen in Hockey India team

Ranchi : Hockey India on Monday announced 18-member Indian Junior Women's Hockey team for FIH Hockey Women's Junior World Cup South Africa 2021, including three players from Jharkhand namely Salima Tete, Sangeeta Kumari, and Beauty Dungdung, informed Manoj Konbeji, vice-president of Hockey Jharkhand.
Interestingly, all three players hail from the Simdega district of Jharkhand. The Indian team will leave for South Africa on November 28. A special camp of 28 players of the junior Indian team is ongoing in Bangalore from which 18 players have been selected, said Jharkhand Hockey president, Bholanath Singh.
India, placed in Pool C, will start their campaign against Russia on December 6. They will take on defending champions Argentina on December 7 in their second match in the round-robin league, followed by their match against Japan on December 9.
The knockout matches will be held from December 10 to16. Teams include Netherlands, Korea, Ireland, Zimbabwe in Pool A, England, Belgium, Canada and Uruguay in Pool B. Pool C consists of Argentina, India, Japan, and Russia while Germany, Spain, the United States, and South Africa are in the Pool D.
